1) One of the things I found interesting was how Argentina's elite billionaires reacted to the disaster they had caused. Because I think it is also how the USA's elites will react.

2) Basically, the elites seemed to have sold big chunks of Argentina to foreigners in order to make their wealth liquid -- so that they could move it out of Argentina and into Uruguay, Italy, etc.

Interestingly enough, some the the billionaires have remained in Argentina and apparently have no fear of retribution.

3) If anyone is interested, I will post some more details in the forum discussion on the other blog later.

Ferfal, do you remember anything being reported by the press during the crisis about what Argentina's billionaires were doing?

The fire sale they were holding of Argentinian resources-- so that they could shove their wealth liquid and move it overseas?

I'm curious since Buenos Aires' major newspaper is owned by one of those billionaires.
