A few years ago I faceplanted while rollerblading and broke my nose. I went to the ER, after a few hours got bored waiting, so I slipped into an empty room in the hospital, borrowed some supplies and cleaned up the blood and bits of gravel encrusted into my forehead. Then I notice my nose is a bit bent. It's even moving side to side... *crack* ok, now it's almost straight. Later the sleepless intern stitched me up and I went home.

Anyway, two weeks later I go checkup and the surgeon absolutely wanted to sell me a rhinoplasty, he insisted that I'd get infections if I didn't, etc. Hm, general anesthesia for a purely cosmetic operation, what could go wrong.

Since the nose looked fine to me... ok, maybe 1 or 2mm off from its previous shape, but who cares... I went to another surgeon. He told me it was fine, there was no reason to do a procedure, and he'd advise against it. Thanks !
